A small software studio shipping Claude Code tools, SaaS audits, and custom builds for indie founders and small businesses. One rule from day one: you pay once and the code is yours. No recurring vendor, no lock-in, no invoice #2.
I started Septim Labs after pulling up a client’s SaaS invoices on a shared screen. Fourteen line items. Three tools doing overlapping things. None of the data in accounts they controlled. The total was more than they’d paid a contractor two years earlier to build the thing those tools were supposed to replace — and that contractor had handed over the repository and walked away. The SaaS vendors had not.
The pitch has been the same since day one: pay once, own it. Hosting on a free tier (Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare). Stripe for payments. Email through your own Gmail. No recurring vendor in the loop. When the build ships, your monthly cost is $0.
The studio is small — fewer than ten people. That is not a disclaimer; it’s the point. A small team finishes things. The person who specced your project ships it. The Claude Code toolchain is what makes the math work: it compresses weeks of boilerplate into days, which means fixed-fee custom builds actually pencil at prices that make sense for a shop owner or a solo founder — not just a venture-backed startup with a $200k engineering budget.
The name: Septim is from Latin septimus, seventh — September, the seventh month of the Roman calendar before Julius Caesar added two more. The studio opened in September. The Forge catalogue launched with seven pay-once tools. The number isn’t decorative. It was a commitment: finish seven things completely before adding an eighth.
Each one maps to a shipped product, a published guide, or a paying client engagement. Not a list of skills we’ve dabbled in.
10-agent rosters, sub-agent definitions, cost-monitor configs, PR-review workflows. We publish the Septim Agents Pack and the longest-running CLAUDE.md authoring guide of 2026.
We maintain the MCP server vulnerability checklist used by enterprise security teams to audit the Model Context Protocol surface area before letting Claude touch production data.
We wrote the “3000-line CLAUDE.md problem” analysis after seeing a single config bloat past 200KB. The best-practices guide is pinned across multiple Claude Code communities.
We’ve replaced ServiceTitan-class workflows for auto shops, charting tools for dental clinics, and rent-roll dashboards for multifamily ops. Each one shipped on a free hosting tier.
How to price a custom build as a one-time fee and still pencil. Why the $5k flat-rate audit is the highest-margin product in the catalog. Why founding-rate pricing isn’t a discount — it’s an inventory clearance.
Next.js + Supabase + Stripe Express + Vercel + Cloudflare + Resend + Claude. The same six tools build everything in this catalog. We know where the seams leak and where the free tiers actually hold.
Every post on this site is written by the Septim Labs team. If a fact is wrong, that’s on us. If you spot one, email us.
Every one is something we shipped because a client needed it — or because we needed it and figured someone else would too. Paga una vez. Sin suscripciones.
